CONTENT & SPECIAL FEATURES
- This collection of progressive violin literature is currently the only one world-wide using the “Three-Tempo-Practice-Method.”
- The repertoire ranges from Baroque solo concertos to foot-stomping fiddle pieces and includes pieces for one, two and three violins, predominantly with piano accompaniment. All of the pieces found in books 4-6 of the Suzuki Violin School are included in these volumes.
- Preparatory exercises and supplemental practice tips are included with most of the pieces.
- Numerous photographs with technical details will help clarify any theoretical explanations.
- The audio recordings include the performance pieces with and without the violin part, as well as many of the most important preparatory exercises. Imaginative and lively piano accompaniments, composed specifically for these CDs by David Andruss, make such technical work both fun and inspirational.
- The three-volume collection Recital Training is a comprehensive manual for intermediate-level violin players.
- It is suitable for both Suzuki and traditional teaching methods, as a refresher course for players with previous playing experience and even for people teaching themselves.
- Volume 3 includes popular favourites for intermediate players such as Fiocco’s famous Allegro, Rameau’s festive Gavottes I and II, Saint-Saëns’ beautiful The Swan and J. S. Bach’s complete Violin Concerto in A minor – a true masterpiece. La Folia, based on Corelli’s variations, is particularly exciting: it can be performed by violin and piano as well as by various types of ensemble, thus enabling musicians of different levels to play together.
- Following the pedagogical strategies of the first volumes, this book contains numerous practice suggestions for the effective learning of the selected repertoire:• The proven ‘Three-Tempo-Practice-Method’
• Systematic preparatory exercises, supplemented with practice suggestions
• Photos and videos with technical details. The accompanying audio tracks include both performance versions of the pieces for listening and play-along versions in various tempi, as well as imaginative and lively piano accompaniments to the exercises – making even technical practice an inspiring musical experience.
