The German Suzuki Association supports Clare Raybould\u2019s project and invited her to the European Teachers Convention in November 2012, ten days before she left for India. At the convention she reported about her project and how we can help the Indian children with funds, instruments, strings & accessories.<\/p>\n

Clare Raybould asked us,<\/span>
\nto pass this very
\nimportant information
\non to you:<\/span><\/strong>
\nWe are looking for<\/strong><\/span><\/span> Volunteer Teachers.
\nThey are needed
\nfor May 2013 onwards.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Volunteer Teachers should stay<\/span> 4 weeks or more <\/strong>to give the children sufficient continuity.<\/span> Funds are there to cover the teachers\u2019 accommodation whilst they are in Goa. The advantage of using Suzuki teachers in this situation is that the repertoire and style of teaching are universal so the children will have continuity even if the teachers change from month to month.<\/p>\n

Goa\u2019s slum\u00a0children<\/h2>\n

Educators\u2019 Trust India is a small-scale local charity that aims to make a real difference to the lives of children that may otherwise be forgotten. These children with their parents live under plastic sheeting on the edge of a field and, with no birth certificates, have no entitlement to education.<\/p>\n

They are, effectively, invisible.<\/p>\n

Clare Raybould writes: “Eight hungry boys fed for \u00a31 today. They came in for their violin lesson and we realised that, since school is closed, they’d had no food or water yet today (maybe none yesterday either).”<\/p>\n
