I. Bow Distributions in Volumes 1A & 1B

These are recommendations only<\/strong> and do not need to be followed dogmatically. The tone quality is always more important than a strict observance of bow distributions<\/strong>, with the following differentiations:<\/span><\/p>\n
    \n
  1. For a student with an uncertain and uncontrolled<\/strong> bow technique, pieces requiring the use of larger bows should first be played with less bow<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The acquisition of the characteristic bow division should definitely be strived for at a later stage of development.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. After the student has gained confidence through repeated playing<\/strong> of the pieces, he or she will be automatically more free and refined with the bow distribution, and will often play with more than the indicated amount of bow.<\/strong>
    \n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    For the first songs,<\/strong> the teacher should place two different-colored stripes on the stick of the bow.
    \n<\/span>The higher stripe<\/strong> should be placed in the middle<\/strong> and the lower stripe at the balance point<\/strong> (approx. \u00bc-point) of the bow.
    \nStarting with the piece Go Tell Aunt Rhody,<\/em><\/strong> one more stripe will be needed. It will be placed at the \u00be-point of the bow.
    \nHere, the bow is illustrated as seen by the parents while the plays.<\/span><\/p>\n
