The German Suzuki Association \/ Deutsche Suzuki Gesellschaft (DSG)
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

was founded in 1983 of the initiative of Shinichi Suzuki.<\/span><\/h3>\n

At present it is the only institution world-wide concerned, in addition to <\/span>Suzuki Teacher Training<\/a>, <\/span><\/strong>with the development of <\/span>new teaching materials<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The German Suzuki Association<\/strong><\/em> is an association of instrumental and general education teachers, educators, parents and other persons working for the targeted support of children, adolescents and adults in the fields of art, especially in the field of music according to the method of Professor Dr. h.c. Shinichi Suzuki.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The DSG operates and promotes the Suzuki music schools and the German Suzuki Institute<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 (Deutsches Suzuki Institut = DSI).<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in 1983, the German Suzuki Institute (DSI) was renamed in 1988 as a registered association under the name of the German Suzuki Association (DSG). The DSG is recognized as a charitable organization by the fiscal authorities of Sankt Augustin. The name of the German Suzuki Institute remained as a component of the German Suzuki Association.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n \u2022 publish information materials such as teacher lists, event schedules, etc.<\/span>
\n \u2022 organize the Suzuki Teacher Training Courses<\/span>
\n \u2022 carry out and promote the DSI under independent artistic and educational direction<\/span><\/p>\n

The tasks of the DSI among others are:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 content planning and implementation of teacher training in the Suzuki method<\/span>
\n \u2022 research work in the field of music education<\/span>
\n \u2022 development of new teaching materials<\/span>
\n \u2022 to foster international exchange of experience between teachers<\/span>
\n \u2022 to ensure quality standards and promotion of the German Suzuki Association\u2019s purpose<\/span><\/p>\n

Note regarding the Suzuki <\/em>trademark<\/span><\/h2>\n
The<\/span> Federal Patent Court<\/span> has decided on July 2, 2013, (reference number 24 W (pat) 520\/11) that the term \u201cSUZUKI\u201d is a descriptive indication of musical educational activities, and therefore cannot be protected by trademark in Germany.\u00a0<\/span>
\nThis means that the name \u201cSUZUKI\u201d may be used freely by anyone
\nin connection with music pedagogy and training.<\/span>
\n
\nMoreover, the European Office for Harmonization <\/span>has decided on November 12, 2014, (reference number 000007149C) to delete the ISA \u201cSUZUKI\u201d trademark for musical education because the ISA had not used the trademark \u201cSUZUKI\u201d for these activities. On request, copies of both decisions can be made available by us.<\/span><\/h5>\n[\/vc_column_text]

In plain language, this means that neither the ESA nor the ISA have the right to prohibit \u00a0free usage of the term \u201cSUZUKI\u201d in connection with musical educational services
\nin Germany and throughout Europe<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/h3>\n
